Spark Series

The Spark Series offers an exciting extension of your classroom work!

Tickets are on sale August 17 at 11 AM

These performances are not only fun, but most are aligned with the Ohio Academic Standards to assist throughout multiple subject areas. Many performances also help to address issue-based topics such as human rights, cultural diversity, self-esteem, and overcoming adversity, as well as introducing students to a variety of performing arts disciplines. By adding a Spark Series experience to your academic calendar, you will be inspiring new pathways for achievement both inside and outside of the classroom.

All seats are $7

Policies and Procedures

Order Adjustments

ORDER ADJUSTMENTS may be made until FOUR weeks prior to the performance date. Within the FOUR-week window before a performance, ONLY additional seats may be added to your order if space permits.

No credits or refunds will be issued for unused seats or post invoice adjustments.

Please contact Heather Schneemann for all order adjustments. hschneemann@mcpa.org or 419.423.2787 x 100

Classroom Support

Many production companies provide a study guide for the show they are presenting. The guides usually have activities that tie academic standards to the show. If a guide is provided by the production company, it will be available at MCPA.org/Spark under each show in a drop-down tab labeled Related Links.

Study guides and other information will be sent electronically to the primary contact on the order form approximately two weeks before the performance date.

Unloading/Loading & Parking

School Bus

Buses should use the Main Cross St entrance. Pull up along the sidewalk to unload students. Once students are unloaded, the bus can then park. Buses will park in the LOT A. Buses and bus drivers must remain on site between unloading and loading the students. For safety purposes, buses CANNOT leave the parking lot until ALL students from every school have been loaded. Thank you for your patience.

Car/Van

All cars and vans must enter from S. West St. Cars and vans will park in either LOT B or LOT C.

Schools and individuals are verbally dismissed to cut down on congestion in the hall, and to have a safe and orderly loading of the buses.

Arrival

Plan your arrival at least 30 minutes before the scheduled performance time.

Seating

Marathon Center for the Performing Arts seats 969 people, and we often sell out performances. MCPA creates a seating chart to ensure that each group can fit. Many factors are considered when making a seating chart, so it is important for you to be flexible. We do not seat on a first come, first served basis. Volunteers will help your group find their assigned seats.

Special Accommodations

At the time of your order, indicate special needs accommodation for your group including the number of wheelchairs. The theatre has audio-assisted listening devices which can be requested when making your reservation. Interpreters accompanying hearing-impaired individuals must be included in your seat count. We may be able to provide a script if requested beforehand.

Contact the Ticket Office to confirm accommodation by calling 419.423.2787 ext. 100.

Inclement Weather and Emergencies

If your school is closed or delayed due to inclement weather on the day of a scheduled performance, notify us before show time that you will not be attending. You will have the opportunity to attend another performance (pending availability). In the event of a closing or other emergency the day of your scheduled performance, call 419.423.2787 ext.100.

In the event the performance is cancelled, your field trip coordinator will be contacted.
