Wheelchair Handicap Seating and Companion Seating

We are happy to assist with any special seating needs when you purchase tickets. We also provide accessible restrooms, courtesy wheelchairs, an elevator and an easy drop-off location at the atrium entrance.

ADA seating is reserved for the exclusive use of patrons with wheelchair disabilities and their guests (there is no actual chair, but a spot for a wheelchair). The purchase or use of these seating locations by non-disabled individuals is strictly prohibited and can result in relocation or ejection. All ADA seats are identified with the universal handicap symbol.

Companion seating is for those attending a performance with a patron in need of wheelchair handicap seating. These seats are located to the left and/or right of handicap seating and are marked with a symbol on the seating chart.

Animals

Animals of any kind are not permitted in MCPA at any time without previous arrangements having been made with MCPA’s Executive Director. Guide animals for persons with disabilities are exempt.

Children

Any child one-year-old or older attending a performance must have a ticket and a separate seat. Infants (12 months and under) are welcome to MCPA-presented family events and performances specifically geared to children and will be admitted free of charge. If any infant or young child is disrupting a performance, MCPA reserves the right to ask a parent to sit with the child in the rear of the theater, or, if need be, to step outside.

Dancing

Feel free to move to the music! If you accidentally dance your way in front of a fire exit, are blocking an aisle or in the way of another patron’s view, an usher may ask you to please dance in a slightly different location.

Late Arrivals

Late arrivals will not be seated until a suitable break in the performance, and at the discretion of the house manager and/or artist.

Blocking Aisles

Fire safety codes prohibit the blocking of aisles. Ushers can store your personal belongings safely and securely during performances.

Refreshments

All food and beverage purchased from one of MCPA’s bars is allowed in the theater. No outside food or beverage is allowed.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located on Ground level and Floor 2. Access to either is available via stairs or elevator.

Cell Phones / Tablets / Watches

Please turn devices with audible notifications including cell phones, and watches to silent during performances.

Programs

Programs for Mainstage performances are now available via a QR code located on the back of every other seat. Use your phone to access the program for the performance.

Smoking

MCPA is a smoke-free building.

Weapons

The safety and well-being of our patrons, artists, and staff are of the utmost importance. To ensure a safe venue for all, the possession of firearms, fireworks, explosives, incendiary devices, knives, or weapons of any kind is prohibited on MCPA’s property except those carried by law enforcement officers who are on duty. All MCPA visitors and their belongings, such as bags or purses, are subject to search and enforcement, and anyone found in violation will be asked to secure the weapon inside their vehicle or at home or leave the property immediately. No ticket returns, refunds, or exchanges will be made for people found in violation of this policy.

Questions?

When attending a performance, guests can direct questions or concerns to MCPA volunteer ushers (wearing gold vests). If needed, ushers can contact the house manager, who is responsible for the overall front-of-house operation. To ensure you get to your seat on time, please arrive early for your performance.

Weather, Cancellations and Delays

MCPA is contractually obligated to pay artists and crew for our performances and therefore rarely cancels a performance due to weather.

Please visit MCPA.org for updates. We immediately post notice of cancellations or postponements on the show's ticketing page. If a show goes on as scheduled, we are unable to refund tickets.

In the event of inclement weather, please do not endanger yourself; make sure to give yourself plenty of time to travel and park safely.

For Spark Series shows

If a Spark show goes on as scheduled, but a school makes the decision to not attend, or is closed and therefore unable to attend, MCPA will issue a credit to be used within a year of the show date. The cost of canceled reservations may also be donated to support future shows.

Assistive Listening System

An assistive listening system is available at MCPA and headsets may be used at any seat. Request an assistive listening device at the Ticket Office or from the House Manager. Provide a photo ID or credit card and home phone number to check out the device for the duration of the performance.

Lost and Found

After every show, our ushers do a sweep of the entire hall for any forgotten items, as well as our custodial team throughout the week. If you believe you have lost an item at MCPA, please contact the Ticket Office.

Lost and found items are held no longer than 90 days.
