HOUSE MANAGER
REPORTS TO: PATRON SERVICES COORDINATOR
OVERVIEW:
Marathon Center for the Performing Arts (MCPA) is searching for a part-time House Manager, responsible for front-of-house operations at the MCPA. Including, but not limited to, space preparation, volunteer management, and general safety protocol for MCPA Patrons during MCPA productions.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be the first to arrive and last to leave for scheduled events.
- Oversee patron safety and well-being before, during, and immediately after the show.
- Ensure event space is clean and presentable for audiences.
- Train, supervise, and manage volunteers during events.
- Lead volunteer pre-show meeting.
- Ensure volunteers have information and supplies needed to perform their duties.
- Basic working knowledge and ability to assist volunteers with ticket scanner issues.
- Works closely with Box Office Manager to handle any ticket disputes/patron seating issues.
- Works closely with Production Manager to open / close the house.
- Ensure the MCPA patrons have a superior experience during MCPA events.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Commitment to customer service and assisting all kinds of people without regard to race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or any other legally protected status.
- Dependability.
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple interruptions.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to solve issues cordially and efficiently.
- Previous experience in front-of-house management, performing arts and/or volunteer management preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Navigate multiple levels of stairs on a frequent basis.
- Walk or stand for at least four hours at a time.
- Tolerate indoor and outdoor climates, depending on MCPA events schedule.
SCHEDULE:
- Flexible, irregular schedule, mostly on weekends and evenings.
- Average shift of 6 to 8 hour shifts depending on length of MCPA production.
SALARY:
- $12- $15 / hour depending on experience.
